Hazem Naw and Jasmijn Gimbrère win the first UTR Pro Tennis Tour tournament in Arnhem

Arnhem – The first edition of the UTR Pro Tennis Tour in Arnhem reached its climax on Sunday with two thrilling finals. Hazem Naw and Jasmijn Gimbrère claimed the titles in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively, and shared in the total prize money of $40,000, with each receiving $3,600.
The men’s singles final between Hazem Naw and Ryan Nijboer featured high-level tennis and a thrilling battle. Nijboer took the first set in a tiebreak, 7-6 (8), but Naw then seized the initiative and completely turned the match around.
With set wins of 6-4 and 6-3, the 26-year-old Naw—born in Syria and competing from his home in Germany—finished the job professionally. The Syrian, who has already reached as high as No. 299 in the world rankings during his career, made a strong comeback after multiple elbow injuries and capped his recovery with the title in Arnhem.
The women’s final also saw a clear shift in momentum. Charlotte van Zonneveld started stronger and convincingly took the first set 6-2.
After that, Jasmijn Gimbrère took the initiative and turned the match in her favor. The 24-year-old player from Voorburg, who started the tournament ranked 496th in the WTA rankings, took the second and third sets 6-4 and 6-3, securing the title.
The tournament lasted six days and featured 110 matches. Despite a few withdrawals and injuries, the UTR system provided a solution, as substitute players were used during the group stage and every participant played at least five matches.
