UTR Pro Tennis Tour returns to Arnhem in April

From 13 to 26 April, Sportpark Molenbeke in Arnhem will once again host the UTR Pro Tennis Tour. Over two consecutive tournament weeks, players from the Netherlands and abroad will compete at a professional level.
The UTR Pro Tennis Tour stands out through its tournament format. Players are guaranteed at least six matches at international level during one tournament week. This gives them valuable match play, sporting development and important experience as they continue to build their careers in international tennis.
Each tournament week in Arnhem offers a total of 40,000 US dollars in prize money. In this way, the tour provides not only sporting opportunities, but also financial support for players investing in their tennis careers.
There is also a clear local connection for Arnhem. Nineteen-year-old Arnhem player Rein Koenders will once again compete in both tournaments. At the same time, the tournaments attract players from 29 different countries, giving the UTR Pro Tennis Tour in Arnhem a strongly international character.
Tournament director Remco Schreurs sees Arnhem as a strong location for the further development of the series. “Arnhem is a logical and strong location for this tournament series. At Sportpark Molenbeke, we can offer players the conditions that fit professional tennis, while the public can also experience the tournament up close. Step by step, we want to build a recurring international event here.”
Matches from the UTR Pro Tennis Tour are broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video. This gives both the players and the Arnhem tournaments international visibility.
An important partner of the event is the Henk Timmer Stichting, which provides financial support for the tournament in Arnhem. The foundation supports the development of tennis in the Netherlands and is named after Henk Timmer, one of the most successful Dutch tennis players in history and record holder with 23 national titles.
Louk Sanders, former professional player and board member of the Henk Timmer Stichting, explains why the foundation supports the tournament: “As a foundation, we want to contribute to the development of tennis in the Netherlands. This tournament fits that mission well, because players can compete in many matches at international level within a short period of time and also earn prize money. It is precisely that combination that makes a tournament week like this valuable.”
In addition to the two tournament weeks in April, further events are planned for the summer and winter. In this way, the UTR Pro Tennis Tour in Arnhem is gradually being developed into a recurring international tournament series.
